PROJECT 3

Occasional Rain

Weather App

After defining the user base, use a comprehensive design approach, such as PACT, wireframes, Prototypes, user-testing, etc. to test design ideas.

PACT

Particular People, Particular Activities, Particular Contexts, Particular Technologies.
User groups : Skiers and mountain sports enthusiasts.

Personas

Based on the research of users and my own skiing experience, I created a Persona, a skier with professional equipments and have courage to challenge the bad weather.

App Research

I analyzed many existing weather apps that found strengths and weaknesses.

Ideas & Wireframes

Based on the research, I have an idea. I was going to design a weather app that allowed skiers to use it in inclement weather. It can be connected to sports glasses via Bluetooth and display important weather data on the glasses screen to help users understand the weather in real time. If there is dangerous, it can prompt the user. I expressed my ideas through sketch and wireframe techniques.

Low Fidelity Prototype and User Testing

I made that low fidelity paper prototype to test the workflow and main functions. I found that details of weather information were too complicated, so I redesigned this part.

Testing by Chloe
Chloe tested my weather app and gave some suggestions for dynamic effects, which optimized the user experience.

Interface Design

I used the software of Sketch to design the interface of the weather app.I want to know what problems might occur when the user test high-fidelity prototype.

Video of Dynamic Effects

Dynamic effects can be more intuitive to display users how to use the weather app.

Gain

Based on Project 3, I have learned the techniques of Wireframe, Low & high fidelity prototype, User-testing, and how to design an app that meets the demands of the user group.
